Successive Approximation Model (SAM)

SAM is a new learning development model proposed by Michael Allen. Being a believer of moving fast, failing quickly and rapid path correcting, I like the agile process of this model. However, I have found it challenging to get stakeholders to understand agile process and keeping their expectations aligned to the rapid prototyping method. Stakeholders from companies already aligned to agile processes get it. Not just that, they actively support and encourage rapid prototyping. In comparison, managers coming from traditional set ups, organizations still seeped in 1990s processes or key stakeholders unable to unlearn processes they grew up with, are quick to judge, impatient with the processes and start influencing others to push the process towards a mode traditional ADDIE. Associated video
